Nexus 6 leaked in future Google Ad

The latest surrounding Android L and the Google/Motorola Nexus 6 is that they will be unveiled in their entirety tomorrow (October 15, 2014). A new ad shows off the what could be the new Nexus device, even though the spot is just a cartoon.

As you can see in the video below, a massive device gets pulled out of one of the smaller character's pockets, that seems to look seemingly familiar to the Nexus 6 or Shamu leaks we've seen in the past. The sheer size of the device in the video definitely points towards the Nexus coming with a massive 5.9 inch display. The device also has the minimalistic Android L navigation buttons, which is referring to Android L.

The device is expected to ship with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and a QHD display (1440 x 2560). While the device is expected to be debuted tomorrow, it could see a release as early as November 3, 2014 which has been previously reported.

Android L's official name might be...?

Android L was officially unveiled back in June at the Google I/O, but something was missing. While Google debuted their new version of the Android OS, they did not unveil an official name. We all know that Google names their OS versions after desserts, previous iterations have been KitKat, Jelly Bear, Ice Cream Sandwich, etc. With the name debut expected, we are left with a few different options.

The most prevalent name expected for Android L has been Lollipop. This has been the front-runner since 'L' was debuted, although other names such as Lemon Meringue Pie, and Lion have also popped up. Lion is the most unlikely choice, whereas LMP is very possible due to Google not going with a different pie variant for the 'K' iteration (Key Lime Pie).

Now, we have a new take that 'L' may stand for Licorice. Giovanni Calabrese is the head of the sculpting firm that has designed previous Android sculptures had posted on his Google+ account stating "I never had a great liking for Licorice, but damn! There are some great flavors out there!"

He also wrote that while boarding a plane to fly to Google HQ, TSA asked him why he had so many boxes of licorice in his bag. His reply was that he likes to hand them out at the boarding gate.

Either Google and Calabrese are collaborating on one of the biggest bluffs in Android history because people read into and overt-think everything, or he is legitimately dropping hints on the next official name of Android L.

Google testing free video chats with doctors when searching for symptoms

doctor

Google is already all around us in our lives, whether it is the GPS we use, email accounts, our phones, etc. Now Google may be entering your life in another aspect.

Google is testing a new feature in their search engine. Previously when you searched a condition or symptom, it would give you links to external websites such as WebMD where you could read about what you might have.

Now, Google wants to help your health themselves, and that comes in the form of direct contact with a doctor. In the image seen here, when searching a symptom you are having, an option to talk with a doctor now shows up. In that window, it states "all visit costs are covered by Google during this limited trail."

Other than this screenshot, there are no further details as we know of. It seems as if every company wants to get in-touch with your health. For example Samsung with their S-Health application and Apple with their Health app.

Whether or not this test will pan-out, it is good to see Google offering this for free (as of now). It does state trial, which means that if it is successful, it could be a premium feature.

Do you like this idea or are you opposed to Google invading your life even more? Let us know!

Nexus 9, Android L to be debuted October 15th, Launch November 3rd

Google Nexus 9 Type Cover
It is now rumored that the new HTC Nexus 9, will be debuted on October 15th. Alongside the Nexus 9, we are expected to get the official reveal of Android L, which would include the unveiling of the name. Most assume it will be Lollipop, however Lemon Meringue Pie and Lion have also been rumored.

The Nexus 9 will boast the best specs of a Nexus device to date. It is expected to ship with the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor that has 64-bit architecture, a massive 4 GB of RAM, a 9 inch QHD (1440 x 2560) display, and of course, Android L.

The expected price of the new Nexus tablet will be much higher than the $200 for the Nexus 7. With bigger specs comes bigger costs, so look for the Nexus 9 to run around $400. The device is also expected to be launched on November 3rd.

We will continue to keep you updated on all things Google, so stay vigilant!

October Roundup 1: Apple, HTC, Nexus, and Samsung

October is shaping up to be a big month for mobile tech following a monstrous September that saw the debut of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Motorola Moto X, Xperia Z3, and the iPhone 6/6 Plus. This month we are looking forward to the expected debut of the upcoming Nexus devices, the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9, a new HTC One, and the newest iPad Air. Along with these upcoming devices comes news regarding the ever-popular iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung continuing the trend of metal-framed devices.

Apple

A little over a half of a month has passed, and Apple's iPhone is selling as well as ever. Apple stunned the tech community when they finally ditched their small 4 inch screens for more mainstream 4.7 and 5.5 inch displays. It seems as Apple has definitely chose the right path, following other phone manufacturers such as HTC's One series, LG's G series, and Samsung's Galaxy series.

Both iPhone 6 variants are selling well. With close to 20 million units moved since the September 19th release, with around 20% of those devices are the iPhone 6 Plus. Unfortunately for consumers and Apple, the massive 6 Plus is still on back-order.

The iPhone 6 Plus is back-ordered 3-4 weeks on the official Apple store whereas the smaller iPhone 6 is only back-ordered 7-10 days. This may change in the coming weeks. It is rumored that Apple is shifting production to manufacture more 6 Plus units to combat the high demand and short supply.

In other Apple news, it seems as if the upcoming iPad 2 has reportedly leaked. The images above are courtesy of 9to5Mac via a Vietnamese blog. These images show what looks like an enlarged iPhone 6 Plus.

The updated iPad Air 2, which is rumored to be debuted before the end of this year, can be seen with the popular Touch ID fingerprint scanner, no mute switch, and a highly slimmed down design. The iPad Air 2 is rumored to be just 7 mm thin, compared to 7.5 mm of the previous iteration of the Air and 7.1 mm of the iPhone 6 Plus.

It is unknown if this device is a full working or dummy unit. Regardless, it gives us a great glimpse as to what is to come to the iPad series. Apple has a tough fight on their hands. They are trying to balance enlarging their phones while attempting to keep their tablet sales high.

HTC

HTC has something up their sleeves, and it seems that we will find out later today (10/08/2014). In the image you can see the phone looks very similar to the HTC One M8. It may look identical on the outside, but as we all know, it's what's on the inside that counts.

The image above is rumored to be the HTC One M8 Eye. It looks identical to the original M8, but will come with more premium specifications. It is rumored that the 'Eye' will come with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and 2 GB of RAM that came on the original M8.

The major difference, is that it the 'Eye' is expected to come with not one, but two 13 megapixel cameras. You read that correctly; HTC is expected to have a phone with a 13 megapixel rear shooter instead of HTC's favorite 4 ultra-pixel camera, and a 13 megapixel camera in the front of the device instead of the 5 megapixel shooter seen on the M8.

Desire Eye leak

HTC has drew much criticism from both consumers and people in the tech community for the lack of image quality. While the ultra-pixel trend was a good attempt at something different, it's good to see that HTC has listened and will up the megapixels.

Along with the bump in camera specs, the phone is also expected to come with a bump in screen size. The Eye's display will be bumped up to 5.2 inches, however it will come with the same 1080p resolution

HTC's launch event can be streamed live on YouTube at this link here at 3 P.M. central standard time.

Google Nexus

Lots of rumors and high-anticipation has been swirling around with the latest leaks of the upcoming Nexus 6 device. It is causing quite the stir with its high-end rumored specs. Among those are an absolutely massive 5.9 inch QHD display, 3 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 805 processor, 13 megapixel camera with OIS, and of course, the latest iteration of Android: Android L.

shamufinal2

According to 9to5Google, the Nexus 6 or also known as Shamu, has been passed through the FCC according to this document here. While this is inviting news, it does not mean a release is imminent. Most rumors are pointing to Halloween or October 31st for Google to debut the new line of Nexus devices.

This device is a big step for stock Android devices developed by Google. Previous models of the Nexus line have also been phones with decent specs at an even better price. Most notably, the Nexus is still prevalent today with its full 1080p 4.95 inch display, 2 GB of RAM, and 8 megapixel camera with OIS. This is the first time Google is stepping up to the plate and pushing out a premium device with great specs.

Along with the Nexus 6, Google is expected to announce the Nexus 9. We previously covered the rumors surrounding this monster of a tablet earlier, however this device has passed through the FCC as well. The documents can be seen here.

The Nexus 9 will sport an 8.9 inch QHD display, the super-fast NVIDIA 64-bit Tegra K1, 3 GB of RAM, a 16 megapixel rear shooter, and come with 16 or 32 GB of storage.

Samsung

It all started with the Galaxy Alpha. It was Samsung's first metal-framed phone since they adopted the ever criticized plastic on all previous models such as the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S5, and the Note 3. Now it seems as if Samsung isn't slowing down on the 'metal' trend.

Just last month, Samsung showed off its metal-framed Galaxy Note 4 and it drew much praise. Samsung has finally ditched the plastic. Now Samsung is rumored to be releasing even more metal devices.

Samsung is now rumored to be pushing out an all-new line of devices tentatively called the 'A' series. They have three devices on tap already: Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7. These devices will be a more budget-friendly line of Samsung phones looking to retail between $400-600.

The Galaxy A3 is likely to sport a smaller 4.7 inch display, similar to the likes of the Galaxy Alpha. It will come with a resolution of 720 x 1280.

The Galaxy A5 will come in at the middle range of a 5 inch display, 13 megapixel rear shooter, and a massive 5 megapixel front shooter. This device will also have a resolution of 720 x 1280. The leaked images of the A5 can be seen below.

SM-A500 GALAXY A5 5

SM-A500 GALAXY A5 7

SM-A500 GALAXY A5 1

The Galaxy A7 is expected to ship with a slightly larger screen coming in at 5.5 inches. This will still be a budget-friendly device, but will come with full 1080p resolution. It is unknown what specs will be on the inside of this device, but we will keep up on the details.

We expect these devices to be debuted early November.

Rumor Roundup: Xperia Z3X

Sonys Xperia Z3 was just announced yet a rumor on its successor called the Xperia Z3X. There is still no clear ideas on what it will be but according to the rumors it will sport a 6.2" display with an amazing 4GBs of RAM and will be powered by Snapdragons 64-bit 810 chipset together with an Adreno 430 GPU.

As seen on the photo, the rear camera is really catching attention. It houses a 22MP Exmor CMOS sensor with an f2.0 aperture. The curved camera was said to be modeled after the human eye. Imagine taking a realistic photo with this beast. But rumors are still rumors. Will we be seeing this monster soon?

Rumor Roundup: Nexus 9

I know tech rumors should not be taken for granted, but this one is different. HTC last developed Google's Nexus lineup back in 2010 with Nexus One. The previous version is 7, the latest will be jumping to 9 due to its size. (talk about number skipping *cough* *windows* *cough*)

Source: @Eveleaks
The latest Nexus will be more of a square compared to Nexus 7. Rumors also say that Nexus 9 will be the first to be equipped with Android L. It can be possible that it will be powered with a Tegra K1 chip. Other hardware specs are still unclear.

We will be making a post regards of the specs when it becomes available.

Latest on the Nexus 6

We are almost exactly a month away from Google's highly-anticipated announcement and release of their stock Android driven Nexus 6, and we are greeted with some new renders. This image, courtesy of Android Police shows off what looks to be the new Nexus device and also some interesting renders of the new application icons.

The render, which can be seen below, matches up with the device that was leaked prior in our earlier post, you can see that here. The device is indeed a bigger version of the Moto X (2014) that comes with a 5.9 inch QHD display (1440 x 2560 with 496 ppi), front facing speakers, a 3200+ mAh battery, a 13 megapixel camera in the rear with optical image stabilization, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. On the internals, the device will also sport Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 CPU and 3 GB of RAM.

n6lf

What can be seen on this new mock-up of Android L is the new application icons. These have not been seen in the developer preview as of now, but this is what Google is heading to. Overall there is a continued push towards the flatter design.

We can see an all new phone-dialer icon and what seems to be a new messaging app. Google might be going back to two separate options for messaging, rather than just Hangouts. There is also a revamped icon of the Google Play Store that is much flatter than its predecessor. The new camera icon comes with a new 'lens'. It seems Google has merged the 'Photos' app into the icon of the actual camera.

The Nexus 6 is expected to be debuted this October, most likely the 31st on Halloween.

Rumor Roundup: Android L and Nexus X (6)

There has been a lot of rumors and news going around the smartphone community as of late. Whether it is the supposed leaked images of Shamu (Nexus X  or Nexus 6), the latest hint at Android L being named, or the ever controversial BendGate topic, we have you covered in this edition of Rumor Roundup.

Nexus X

The Nexus X or Nexus 6 has been the topic of the latest leaks and rumors, mainly because of its expected specs. The new Nexus device, is expected to come with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 805 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and QHD display rumored to be anywhere from 5.2 to 5.9 inches.

The previous iterations of the Nexus have all been very good phones, however their specs were never atop the market. That is what makes the phone, codenamed 'Shamu' so intriguing. To go along with the overhaul  on specs, the device is expected to have the biggest screen of a Nexus phone to date.

When the new Nexus device was first rumored to be made by Motorola, it was expected to come with a massive 5.9 inch display. This is much larger than its predecessor. The Nexus 5's display measures in at 5 inches. However, once the Moto X (2014) was debuted, rumors shifted. It was thought that the device would pony off the X and use the same chassis.

All of that has changed, once this image (seen below) leaked onto the internet. The image shows, what appears to be an enlarged version of the Moto X (2014) sitting next to an LG G3. The Nexus device dwarfs the G3, which comes with a 5.5 inch display. This definitely feeds fuel to the fire that the new Google device will sport a massive 5.9 inch display.

The new Nexus device is expected to be debuted on Halloween this year, October 31st, and see a release date of  the following week in November.

Nexus 6 X Motorola Shamu Leak vs LG G3 Comparison.

Android L

Android L has been around ever since Google debuted the updated Android OS on June 25 at the Google I/O Conference this year. Although the updated OS has been debuted, and extensively available through developer previews, the tasty desert name is still MIA. A new image that Google posted celebrating their 16th birthday, may be the closest hint at to what the new name will be.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the name for Android L might be Android Lion. To give some credit to this rumor, Google partnered with Nestle for Android K naming after the crunchy candy KitKat. Lion is also a candy bar made by Nestle, however it is not readily available stateside and is not very popular worldwide. It is unlikely that Google would do this again.

To go along with the Lion rumor, there was a period of time where lemon meringue pie was rumored as well. In FCC documents regarding WiFi testing on a Google device, the build had the initials 'LMP'. This sparked the Android Lemon Meringue Pie kick. This has slightly faded over the past weeks.

The original name thought to be for Android L was Lollipop. This was rumored after KitKat was debuted, and has long been on top of the rumor mill. This name has reemerged after an odd birthday cake Google posted for their birthday.

For Google's birthday, they posted an image of asking Google Now "why do we put candles on birthday cakes?" In the image, you can see that the cake doesn't have candles on it, however it is adorned by lollipops. The fact that they are using Google Now, which is Google's answer to Siri, showing off lollipops, gives us a strong hint as to what Android L will be called: Android Lollipop.

New Sharp smartphone has thinnest bezels seen on a smartphone

When someone hears the brand name 'Sharp', they immediately jump to the TVs they make. The name Sharp in the United States is pretty unheard of when it comes to smart phones, but that is all about to change. The new device they are releasing, the Aquos Crystal, will be one of the firsts of its kind.

Sharp has been one of the first manufacturers that are making TVs with extremely thin bezels, and now they are bringing it to their handsets. According to the latest reports, Sharp has announced this new device that features almost no bezels on three of the four sides of the device.

This device is expected to be released solely at Sprint so far. It comes with mid-range specs with a 720p display, Snapdragon 400 series processor, and 1.5GB of RAM. While it is not the most powerful, it might be one of the more innovative smartphone designs to date.

Smartphone Rumor Roundup 3: Latest news

Every day that passes, new leaks and rumors pop up about IFA 2014 and what smartphone manufacturers are expected to debut. We are a little over two weeks away and the rumor mill is churning. Today we will go over the heavyweights this fall, and that includes the latest on Apple, Samsung, HTC, and Motorola.

Apple: The latest to come from Apple, is that it may be cheaper than previously thought for the smartphone king to make its highly-anticipated sapphire crystal display. The latest news regarding the front panel, is that Apple will use a very thin layer of sapphire crystal on the top of the panel, while using thinner glass on the bottom. It will retain its strength and resistance to scratches, but will save the company millions. This could possibly be as cheap as a $3 panel of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The other news surrounding Apple, is that the iPhone 6 may not even be called the iPhone 6. Yesterday we reported that Apple was to release two versions of their iPhone 6: a standard without a sapphire display and a premium with a sapphire display. This could cause Apple to have an iPhone 6 and 6s right out of the gate. However, the latest rumors suggests that it will indeed be called something else.

Apple executives are rumored to say the upcoming iPhone could be titled something along the lines of iPhone Air and iPhone Air X. Originally it was thought that the iPhablet would adopt the name 'Air', but it seems as if they both could sport that name. The iPhablet could receive an 'X' at the end of its title. Regardless, an iPhone is being released this September, whether it is an iPhone 6 or iPhone Air.

HTC: We now all know that HTC is going to release a Windows variance of the popular One M8 titled the One M8 for Windows. The latest news surrounding the One M8, or W8, is that you may be able to choose your OS. Wouldn't that be something? It would be the first device of its kind, being able to swap over operating systems. While this is a great idea, it is something that is not likely to see the light of day. Google would most likely not appreciate people converting from Android to Windows at their own will.

Samsung: We have already seen the debut of the Galaxy Alpha, the first metal chassis phone in the Galaxy series, but Samsung has more up their sleeves. The latest leaks surrounding the Note 4 is that it will too come with a metal chassis. Is this a changing of how Samsung operates? Only time will tell, but rumors suggests that even the future successor to the Galaxy S5, could receive the metal treatment as well.

Samsung has been stuck behind Apple and HTC as far as build quality, and that is a major reason why consumers criticize their phones. This could be the move that sparks Samsung's sales and skyrockets their profits. We will soon find out on September 3rd when the Note 4 is debuted Samsung will continue to keep it metal.

Motorola: The Moto X+1 has recnetly appeared on benchmark tests, and it will indeed come with a new processor. Some were worried that the X+1 was going to retain its 800 series Snapdragon CPU, but results show otherwise. The benchmark tests revealed that expected X+1 was clocked at 2.5GHz, which is what the 801 is clocked at. This is the same processor seen in the Galaxy S5, LG G3, and OnePlus One.

We'll continue to keep you updated on all these devices towards their upcoming release. Make sure you follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook to get information that we don't always post on the website.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha officially announced

The highly-anticipated debut for Samsung's upcoming Apple iPhone 6 competitor, the Galaxy Alpha, has officially been announced. Samsung is taking a new approach to one of their smartphones; that is going with mid-grade specs with premium build quality. Samsung has always received flak for making high-end phones that didn't come with the high-end feel. The Galaxy Alpha is supposed to change all of that.

Lifestyle and Product

Usually in Samsung's marketing, they always advertise how powerful their phones are. This time things are different. For the Alpha, the specs are in their rearview mirror, and up front we have the high-quality materials. Samsung's profits have been on the decline for sometime now, and they haven't done anything radical enough to stop it, until now.

Key Features

While changing the build quality doesn't sound too radical, for Samsung it is. They have been a plastic first manufacturer since day one. Thing problem is, a good amount of consumers want the best bang for their buck. They are paying over $600 for a phone, and they want the best of the best. Unfortunately, with Samsung phones, you get the high-end specs, but not the build quality of popular devices, such as the Apple iPhone and the HTC One M8.

Today, the Galaxy Alpha showed up on the UK version of Samsung's website, and this is what they had to say: "The Galaxy Alpha is more than just smart inside. It’s the first Samsung Galaxy smartphone with a high-quality metal frame and luxury look and feel." It is one of the thinnest phones on the market now, coming in at just 6.7mm. The Galaxy S5 is 8.1mm and the iPhone 5s is 7.6mm. It is a full 17% thinner than the S5 or 12% than the iPhone 5s.

If you are looking to get your hands on the very first Galaxy phone to feature a metal chassis, you better not be living stateside. As of now, the Alpha is only available overseas. We will continue to update you on the Alpha, and if it and when it will become available to the U.S.

Here is an updated spec-chart for the Galaxy Alpha.

Screen size: 4.7"
Resolution: 720 x 1280 (312 ppi)
Camera: 12 megapixels (rear) - 2. megapixels (front)

Rumor Roundup 2: Latest on the major upcoming smartphones

The anticipation for the upcoming phones keep rising everyday as every phone manufacturer plans to release their flagship devices this fall. We are approaching IFA 2014, and the closer we get, the more details leak out. We have the latest on all the devices that are expected to be released in the last third or so of this year. We've been probing the internet and this is what has surfaced so far.

Apple (iPhone 6): Leaks of the upcoming Apple flagship, the iPhone 6 have been running rampant as of late. We saw the rear casing of the device in the last post, and today there are images of the front display panel. What makes this so promising, is that they are completely fresh off the assembly line. In the images below, you can see a newly manufactured front panel, that has protective wrapping on it as well as a QR code for quality control.

    iphone6_appleclub_whiteiphone6_appleclub_black

These front panels seem consistent to what has been coming in off the internet. You can see that the iPhone 6 will definitely have a thinner bezel than previous generations of the flagship. It also has rounded edges, which is hard to define in the images above, and the cutout for the popular Touch ID scanner.

While leaks are plenty surrounding the 4.7" iPhone 6, everything on the 5.5" is quiet. The latest news we've heard on the iPhablet is that it is being delayed until 2015. If it isn't announced with the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3, definitely expect a Q1 release in 2015.

HTC: The latest to come from HTC is surrounding their upcoming partnership with Microsoft. Once word leaked out that HTC would produce a M8 for Windows, consumers were worried that one of the top devices of the year would lose it's beloved features such as boom sound, dual cameras, and its internal specs. According to the latest leaks, it will be an exact copy of its Android counterpart, aside from the OS. It will come with its familiar 5" screen, boom sound speakers, 4 ultra-pixel camera, and Snapdragon 801 processor. Still expect this device to hit the shelves on August 21st.

Google/Motorola (Nexus 6): The Nexus 6 is an always anticipated device because of its use of stock Android. Some people like Vanilla Android because carriers tend to add bloatware and manufacturers like to use their OS overlay to the devices, which can cause lag in performance. Earlier we reported that the codename for the Nexus 6 is Shamu, which would make sense seeing as Google codenames all of its devices after fish. The Nexus 5 was Hammerhead, and the Nexus 4 was Mako. What we know far is that it will come with a 5.9" display that is QHD, a fingerprint scanner, IP 67 (water resistant and dust tight) and of course tout Android L.

Motorola (Moto X+1): Aide from  Motorola working with Google on the new Nexus 6, or Shamu, Motorola has their own device up their sleeve. One of the most popular Android devices, the Moto X, has received a price cut. This seemingly almost guarantees the expected September 25th release of the Moto X+1. The X+1 will feature the standard Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 5.1" 1080p display, with a 12MP rear shooter.

Samsung (Galaxy Note 4/Galaxy Alpha): As the release of these two flagships near, leaks on the former of those devices is remaining minimal, while the latter is experiencing a lot of attention. Recently we posted about an event that was held in Moscow, showing off the Galaxy Alpha. Once images get posted on the internet, they are on there forever, regardless if Samsung removes them. Along with the event in Russia, we have had a considerable amount of images of the Alpha, and even a comparison next to the iPhone 5s, so we know what is coming. Unfortunately, we haven't been so lucky with the Note 4. Images of the highly-anticipated Galaxy Note 4 haven't come in contact with the internet yet, but as September 3rd draws closer, something will pop up eventually, and we'll have you covered.

Sony (Xperia Z3): We have been facing the same dilemma with the Z3 as we are with the Note 4 and the Alpha. Pictures and details of the Z3 Compact have been abundant, whereas the Z3 have been slim to none. The Z3 is expected to come with the same IP 58 rating and 20.7 camera as its predecessor, but it will have a bumped up 5.15" display, Snapdragon 801 chipset, and an upgraded 2.2 megapixel front facing camera. Sony is expected to announce their flagship on September 3rd, which happens to be the same day as Samsung's unveil.

The end of the year will definitely go out with a bang this year, with every company releasing high-end models of their smartphones. Fortunately for us, the debuts and releases are closing in, with the majority of these devices being shown off for the first time this September. So if you are in need of a new smartphone, we advise you to be patient, because it will pay off. The last thing you want is to buy an iPhone 5s, Galaxy Note 3, or Nexus 5, and learn that the all of their successors will be released a month later.

Let us know what you think of these upcoming devices and which one you would like the most.

    Galaxy Alpha specs: Confirmed

The Galaxy Alpha, which is considered to be the iPhone 6 4.7" main competition has made an official, yet unofficial debut. Samsung seems to have an event going on or to be dated in Moscow, Russia. The picture from the event can be seen below.

Along with pictures of the event, there was an image containing the actual specs of the device. It comes with a display that has the expected 720p display, 2GB of RAM, and a12 megapixel rear shooter. The full details cab be seen below.

The Galaxy Alpha is Samsung's answer to the premium design of  Apple's iPhone series. This metal Galaxy has long been rumored and now the release is nearing. We expect an August 13th debut for the official announcement of this device. Until then, we'll keep you posted.

Galaxy S6: Rumor roundup and specs

Samsung's Galaxy S5 was well received by both users and critics, but it lacked innovation. It seemed as if it was an updated or prime version of the Galaxy S4. It came with the same amount of RAM, a new processor,  and a slightly more square design. They did manage to stick a bigger screen inside the same dimensions which was welcome.

The Galaxy S5 added a heart rate monitor and a  fingerprint scanner, but it lacked that 'must have' feature that drives consumers to buy new devices. Samsung is feeling the heat with their dwindling sales, and while the Note 4 may help them, it's not the answer. The Galaxy S6 will be Samsung's time to shine.

The Galaxy S6 is expected to be the same and more. It will retain the heart rate monitor, UV sensor, and the fingerprint scanner it's predecessors had. It will also be the first of the S series phones to come with a QHD display. These features will be all but guaranteed.

Since Samsung looks to hit a home run with the Galaxy S6, they will pull out ask the stops. One of the most anticipated features would be a processor with 64-bit architecture. This one will be the most likely to happen, seeing as Android L will support 64-bit. Another feature Samsung could debut is a flexible display. One version of the Note 4 will have a curved display, but the S6 could be one of the first smartphones to have a completely flexible display.

Below you can find all the expected and rumored specifications.

    Screen size: 5.3"

Latest on the Xperia Z3 Compact: New leaks and specs

Earlier this month, we posted about the expected specs and rumors of the Xperia Z3, which is coming with a 5.15" display. The Z3 Compact, is just as it sounds, a smaller version of the full-sized Z3. It comes in with a very average 4.5" display, at a resolution of 720p. While the regular sized Xperia remains popular, more and more phone manufacturers are going for alternate designs of their flagships that are smaller. The Xperia Z3 Compact's main competition in that category would be the Galaxy Alpha and the iPhone 6 4.7". Sony looks to continue to build off the Z1S and Z2's success, and it seems they are on the right path. The Z3 Compact looks to be debuting along side it's full-sized counterpart on September 3rd.

    Xperia Z3 Compact
    Screen size: 4.5"
    Resolution: 720 x 1280 (326 ppi)
Camera: 20.7 megapixels (optical image stabilization) (rear) - 2.1 megapixels (front)
    Hardware: Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 - quad-core
    Battery: 2400 mAh
    RAM: 2gb
    Storage: 16/32gb
    Water resistant: Yes
    Features: Dust tight, Sony camera
    Expected debut: September 3, 2014
    Release date: September-October 2014

Below you can see the newest leaked images of the Z3 Compact. It looks to retain the quick-disconnect magnetic charging port, which more companies should follow suit. It also cuts down on extra openings by putting the microUSB charging port and the microSD card slot under the same seal. The buttons appear to be a bit larger, and continue to be well placed at a comfortable location on the edge of the device.

Moto X+1 expected to release September 25th

The Moto X from Motorola was one of the most popular Android devices for many reasons. It was almost completely customizable to your tastes and it has quality specs. It was designed to be a budget phone and it succeeded at what it was trying to accomplish. Motorola will continue to build on that with their upcoming device.

The successor to one of Motorola's most successful phones to date, is expected to be released very soon. September is looking to be a huge month for smartphones, and Motorola is throwing their own flagship phone into the fire. The Moto X+1, or so it is rumored to be called, will be released on Verizon first, on September 25th.

It is expected to be released with a full 1080p 5.2" display, 2gb of RAM, and even rock Qualcomm's Snapdragon 801 processor. On top of all that, it is expected to have a massive 3000 mAh battery. If you like customization and decent specs, the X+1 is the phone for you.

Samsung Galaxy S5: Google Play Edition - Coming soon?

Samsung has been criticized for its overlay over stock Android called TouchWiz ever since its existence. Although some people love Samsung phones, some can't deal with the excess bloat that they push on to their devices. Tech users rejoiced when Google announced it had partnered with Samsung to push out a S4 with stock Android. A phone with Samsung's high-end specs accompanied by stock Android was a phone to be desired. This phone was released June 26, 2013.

Very recently, it has appeared that the Galaxy S4: Google Play Edition, is no longer on the market. Early last month, the S4: GPE received a significant price drop down to $400. This could only mean one thing; Google is clearing out stock of a phone that is soon to be obsolete. Now, it's apparent that they might be upgrading devices. We have seen this before with the HTC One M7 and there is no reason that this case would be any different.

It is yet to be announced, but rumors have been abundant in the past months. We could see the announcement coming within a few months, seeing as Google usually announces its lesser devices before it's own flagship, the Nexus line. The S4: GPE was quite popular and we wouldn't expect anything less of the S5 model. Only time will tell.

    Sony Xperia Z3: Specs/Rumors

Sony has been quite successful with their flagship line 'Xperia' in the past, being the first smartphone to be water-resistant. They haven't been slowing down, releasing new models of their flagship within six months of each other since the first Xperia. Lately, rumors of the Xperia Z3 have been popping up, and it is expected to be debuted on September 3rd, the same day Samsung is expected to debut the Galaxy Note 4. The Xperia is expected to come with monster specs, and continue along the path of its predecessors.

Camera: 20.7 megapixels (optical image stabilization) (rear) - 2.1 megapixels (front)
    Hardware: Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 - quad-core
    Battery: 3300 mAh
    RAM: 3gb
    Storage: 16/32gb
    Water resistant: Yes
    Features: Dust tight, Sony camera
    Expected debut: September 3, 2014
    Release date: September-October 2014

Lately, recent rumors have said that Sony will put a 50 megapixel shooter on the back of the Xperia Z3, and come with a whopping 4gb of RAM. On top of all that, it is supposed to have a CPU clocked at over 3GHz. To us here at Phone Probe, this is something that sounds too good to be true because this device would have a monstrous price tag, to go along with it's massive specs. We insist people take those rumors with a grain of salt, because the chances that it has those specs is extremely, extremely slim. Regardless, the Xperia Z3 is looking to be a great device.
